Human Civilization



This course aims to introduce students to basic concepts in the field of civilization studies. It primarily focuses on the major philosophical approaches that are employed to account for the rise and fall of civilizations. It also explores the factors that contributed to the growth of civilizations and their maturity, covering the political, economic, social, religious, and cultural aspects of such processes. The course hopes to reinforce such fundamental values as interfaith dialogue, intercultural communication, dialogue between and among civilizations, respect for others, and human rights.
